  • TODAY: Joe Biden has won the presidency!

    Biden, in a statement, said he was 
    humbled by the victory and it was time 
    for the battered nation to set
     aside its differences.

    “It’s time for America to unite. 
    And to heal,” he said.

    “With the campaign over, it’s time to
    put the anger and the harsh rhetoric
    behind us and come together as a
    nation,” Biden said.
    “There’s nothing we can’t do if we do it together.”

  • Kamala Harris will be the nation’s first Black and South Asian vice president, and first woman to hold that office.👏 On Twitter, she posted a video of her victory call with Biden: "We did it, we did it Joe. You're going to be the next President of the United States."

Born in 1964, Harris is the daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants. She previously made history in 2017 as the first Black and Indian American woman to represent California in the U.S. Senate. In 2010, voters elected her as the first Black woman to serve as California attorney general
